Motion Picture Ending, is a name stemming from one of the only truthful moments in a persons life; at the end of a movie, where nothing has skewered your thoughts and tainted your true feelings. It's a statement that describes this truthful, straight ahead, four piece alternative rock group from Trenton, Ontario, Canada.
Motion Picture Ending was originally formed in 2005 by singer/songwriter Tyler Wilkinson, from the Grammy nominated 'the Wilkinsons', and local talent, drummer, Justin Devries (Union Made). Living in Nashville, Tennessee for most of his life, Wilkinson was left to work with some of the industries best to improve and perfect his writing skills. This proved to be a true asset when he moved back 'home' to Trenton and began work on the band. From there he picked up two local musicians, bassist and backing vocalist Curtis Weekes, a drummer formally for the band 'Monroe', who played with the likes of 'Alexisonfire' and 'Jerrycan', and the other, guitarist Greg Bolton, formally of the 'The Vinyl Riot', who played with indie rock legends 'The Grey,' SonicUnion recording artists 'the Tangiers' and hardcore up-and-comers 'Rosesdead'. At the time of Wilkinsons' return, Bolton and Weekes were playing with Geffen recording artist, Samantha Moore. Through a mutual friend, Motion Picture Ending was born in the early months of 2005.
Individually, each of the members bring a unique musical background and a wide variety of skills and abilities to the group. With Wilkinsons' heart melting lyrics and pure, spine chilling vocals, Bolton's tasteful guitar parts, Weekes' driving bass and soaring harmonies and Devries' solid backbone, the energetic and highly entertaining live show leaves a stain on the minds of the audience, that they never wish to "Shout" out.
The set list, is filled with a diversity of pieces, from the fan favourites, like the heart wrenching Cold Feet; a song about a women who is bebating the trials and tribulations leading up to life's two toughest words, to the cleverly worded and whitty Ode De Paris --- 'and we ain't talking about the city!'. With sounds that hint influence from bands like Jimmy Eat World, Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age and Incubus, Motion Picture Ending brings a catchy, melodic, ear pleasing sound to the table that is new to today's lacking music scene.
