LISTEN TO OUR EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH TYLER SHAMY COMING SOON!
Tyler Shamy is a 16 year old actor, singer, song writer, and dancer born in New Jersey. Since August of 2007, he has been living in Los Angeles to pursue acting in film, television, commercial, and voiceover as well as his musical career. Tyler recently worked with legendary producer Christian Davis of Sly Doggie Productions on his newest songs titled "Worth It or Not", "You", & "Goin’ to LA". Currently, Tyler is working on three more original songs in the studio.
Tyler writes the lyrics and melody to his songs. Though not a trained pianist, Ty often plays the piano by ear as an aid to his writing. Tyler knew at a very young age that he passionately wanted to pursue a career as a performer. Inspired by his father who is a singer, song writer, and pianist, Tyler started writing music when he was about thirteen years old and now has over twenty five original songs. Commonly referred to as a younger version of Justin Timberlake or Jesse McCartney, his music has been featured internationally on radio stations such as New York’s WOR 710, UK’s Taff Air Radio, Dixie Radio Indy, Planet Net Tunes, Pop Garden Radio, XF Radio, The Jake Larsen Show, Decades 5, Radio Basile and more. As if that weren’t exciting enough, he will soon be featured on Radio Disney as one of their Incubator Artists. Shamy has also been chosen to be a roster artist on the "School Zone Pop! Tour", in which concerts are performed for middle schools and high schools as a fund raiser to support performing arts and other programs. Tyler enjoys giving back to the community by performing at charity events and fund raisers for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Gomez Family Food Drive, and other important benefit concerts. Tyler has worked in theatre since the young age of seven and began film, commercial, and voiceover work by the time he reached age thirteen. He can be seen in several independent and short films, an online educational resilience program called "R4POWER" distributed to schools and kids worldwide, a commercial for Sony HDTV, Brett Dennen’s music video "Ain’t No Reason", Monet Monico’s music video "Wait For Me", and a Public Service Announcement airing on the internet. Tyler has also been seen in numerous community, regional, and professional productions of musicals throughout the years including an Off-Broadway showcase and a regional tour. He had the honor of receiving a Perry Award nomination for "Outstanding Young Male Performer in a Musical". Tyler can be heard on three of the acclaimed Kids’ Music Round CDs, as well as voiceovers for a video game and the Educational Testing Service. Tyler consistently trains with highly respected acting and vocal coaches to stay on track with his craft.
Already impressing fans all over, Tyler’s career is sure to be a successful one. Shamy believes that his recent material is more appealing than the tracks on his past demo because he has grown and changed. Moreover, he feels that he has developed the style that he has been working towards for a while. Whether a major deal comes his way or not, Tyler plans on completing a full album this year. His goal is to create music to inspire, impact, and entertain. Sometime in the near future, he hopes to tour all around the U.S. and eventually, throughout the world.
