Tracey here from Pop Blitz Magazine.  We are talking with actress Lindsey Shaw, who plays “Moze” on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.  Lindsey, can you please introduce yourself?

Lindsey: Hey, I’m Lindsey.

Tracey: Aside from Ned’s what else are you working on?

Lindsey: You know, I’m not working on much at the moment.  Just kind of been working on some scripts for some independent films which I’ll be starting in the spring.

Tracey: By the time you’ve reached 17 what do you want to of accomplished?

Lindsey: I want to have this series under my belt, which I think I will.  I want to be, I don’t know just having a good time.  17’s the time to party.

Tracey: You started acting in plays when you were just in daycare.  What drew your attention to acting?

Lindsey: There wasn’t a specific thing that ever drew my attention to it.  I just liked entertaining people and I liked the spotlight, and that just kind of snowballed into entertaining for people.

Tracey: What was your favorite theater role that you’ve played?

Lindsey: I got the lady in this Christmas Chronicles play at my school.  I felt like I was just it, you know what I mean.  We’d have these rehearsals and I’d be like ‘yep I’m the lead in this play’ and I played this character “Scoop” who was like a reporter.  I don’t know, it was the weirdest role, but I had such a good time playing it.  We rehearsed for like a month beforehand and I loved it.

Tracey: Did you get a bunch of flowers afterwards?

Lindsey: Yeah, we okay it was just all onstage.  I don’t know what made me feel so important when I was up there.  I was like okay, this is like a fifth grade play, but whatever.

Tracey: Well that’s a pretty big deal for a kid.

Lindsey: Yeah, exactly.  It was just so much fun, it was awesome.  That was the first big role at school I’d ever gotten, and I was just so happy, I was overjoyed.

Tracey: What was your most embarrassing onstage moment?

Lindsey: You know, I was never onstage that much to have built up an embarrassing moment.  I mean thankfully, I would of yeah.  That would have been awful if I had fallen or something, but nope never had one.

Tracey: Well that’s a good thing.

Lindsey: Yeah, exactly.

Tracey: You can’t have any embarrassing stories that you have to tell people then.

Lindsey: Exactly.  No embarrassing pictures floating around.

Tracey: That’s a good thing.

Lindsey: Yeah exactly.

Tracey: Your parents can’t just drag them out years from no and be like ‘oh look at this’.

Lindsey: Yeah, not like those old baby videos they always tend to drag out when your friends are over.  I don’t know if that happens to anyone else, but that happens to me quite a bit.

Tracey: No, not yet luckily.

Lindsey: Lucky.

Tracey: Or just wait if some guy comes over, then they drag them out then.

Lindsey: Oh man, no no I don’t even want to think about that.

Tracey: Well you don’t have any embarrassing stories or photos from that so you don’t have to worry about it.

Lindsey: Right.  Exactly.

Tracey: I’m sure they could find other one’s though.

Lindsey: Oh trust me, there’s plenty.

Tracey: All parents could find embarrassing photos.

Lindsey: Yeah their choices about that stuff.  It’s weird, they just pull them out when it’s convenient.

Tracey: Being that your 16, is it weird playing a middle schooler?

Lindsey: You know, you’d think it would be, but not really.  I mean it’s quite a bit older, but I think it’s fun to play down that age, rediscover some of the mannerisms I had when I was that age.

Tracey: Nothing wrong with that.

Lindsey: Exactly.

Tracey: Are you planning on going to college, if so what for?

Lindsey: Yes I am planning on going to college, but I doubt it’s going to be right after high school, and I have no idea for what.  I would think probably for psychology or something.

Tracey: Psychology is fun.  I’ve taken a few classes. I read you like surfing the net.  What do you like to do when your online?

Lindsey: Well I used to like to check myspace, but that’s not an option anymore.  I like to go to ebaumsworld with those weird videos, you know those funky, have you ever been there?

Tracey: Yeah, I used to play those games in class.

Lindsey: Yeah, I freakin’ love that site.  It’s such a fun site.  Just anything with like stupid games on them, and that kind of thing.

Tracey: Cool, well it’s got a few crazy games on there.

Lindsey: Yeah, seriously.

Tracey: Kind of graphic, not totally nice games on there.

Lindsey: I know, yeah, it’s a little, yeah I hear ya loud and clear.

Tracey: But I mean it’s not, it’s just like joking around but.

Lindsey: Yeah.

Tracey: Yeah, that site kept me busy when I was bored.

Lindsey: Yeah, very very good site to kill boredom.

Tracey: And had time to kill.  You like sports.  Is there any new sport you’d like to try if you had the chance?

Lindsey: Hmm, hockey.  Okay, some of my friends like hockey and I just recently got into the game, and I’ve been to a few games.  It seems like the funnest sport ever.  Like being on the ice seems really cool, and being able to check people seems crazy cool.

Tracey: So ice hockey or more like street hockey?

Lindsey: Ice hockey.  Skating on the ice is so cool.

Tracey: You’d think it’d be harder.

Lindsey: Yeah, seriously.

Tracey: What are your top 3 favorite tv shows?

Lindsey: Top 3 favorite shows, oh wow, okay we can do this.  Family guy, okay let me think of another one.  Family guy, this is such a good question, One Tree Hill even though it’s gotten corny, and probably, dang this is a good question.  Ugh, I can’t even think of what I watch on a daily basis. And, I don’t know, probably the OC.  Well I don’t know, I don’t watch it on a daily basis, but it’s still a good show.  So I’m going to go with OC, yeah.

Tracey: I was going to say, you probably won’t say “Ned’s” since you don’t like to really, you know, watch yourself.

Lindsey: Yeah, exactly.  Watching myself, it’s not the best feeling in the world.

Tracey: Yeah, actually now we have a few fan questions and one of them is actually how does it feel to be on tv, and later watch yourself?

Lindsey: Okay, I think the being on tv part is awesome.  Being able to reach out and entertain people is so cool.  But then watching yourself, it’s awkward.  You know what I mean?  You just sit there and you’re like ‘hum’.  It’s just weird to think that so many people are seeing that, and that’s the kind of performance you gave.  I don’t know, it’s just kind of a self-conscious thing.

Tracey: To sit there and judge yourself, and be like you know.  I don’t know some people would probably be picking apart, did I do okay, did I do this.

Lindsey: Yeah.

Tracey: That’d be hard then.  Are you anything like Moze?

Lindsey: Yeah, actually I’m a lot like Moze.  She’s a tomboy. She really loves sports, and so do I.  She’s determined and everything, and she’s a good student, organized.  All of those are traits of mine to a certain extent.  The biggest difference is that she has two guy friends and can’t make any girl friends.  And that’s basically the opposite for me.  I always have like a ton of girl friends.

Tracey: Yep same here.

Lindsey: Yeah.

Tracey: Final question.  Is there anything that you would like to say to your fans and Pop Blitz?

Lindsey: You know what?  I just want to give a humongous thank you to all the fans, cos they’re awesome.  You know what I mean?  It’s so cool that they take time out of their day to tune in and watch, and I’m so glad that they enjoy the show.  I hope they continue to enjoy it.

Special thanks to Lindsey, and her publicist. Also to the following fans for questions: Ashley and Christie.
