Tracey: This is Tracey from Pop Blitz Magazine, along with special guest Josh Benett.

Josh: Yo, what’s up?

Tracey: We are speaking with up and coming pop/rock singer, Brock Storm.  Brock, can you please introduce yourself?

Brock: Hey everyone, this is Brock Storm.  I’m 16, and I’m an up and coming pop/rock singer.

Tracey: For those unfamiliar with you, how would you describe yourself and your music?

Brock: I would describe myself as a real easy-going person.  My music is basically music that everybody can relate to.  It’s simple, no matter what situation you are in you are pretty much going to relate to it.  People old and young can relate to my music, especially if you’re in a relationship with somebody.

Tracey: What made you decide to go in the pop music direction?

Brock: I just really like pop music.  I think that pop music is a really wide genre of music.  And I think it has one of the biggest audiences, over any style of music.  I just want to reach as many people as possible.

Tracey: Alright, we got some questions from your fans on myspace.

Brock: Awesome!  Cool.

Tracey: When will your CD be coming out?

Brock: I am actually in the studio right now working on my CD.  There is no set date, but as soon as there is it will be posted on my website and my myspace.

Tracey: Tell us about the first time you ever performed in front of people.

Brock: The first time that I performed in front of people was actually when I was 5 years old.  I sang at my aunts wedding, and it was in front of about 300 people.  From that moment on I knew I was destined to be an entertainer.

Tracey:  What did you sing?

Brock:  I sang “I Can Love You Like That” by John Michael Montgomery.  That’s a country song.

Josh:  I used to love that song.

Brock: *laughs*

Josh: I did, I used to sing it like all the time.  It’s an old song.

Brock: Yeah, it’s real pretty.

Josh: Totally.

Tracey: Do you enjoy what you are doing?  What’s your favorite part of your job?

Brock: Actually my favorite part is getting feedback from my fans and hearing how my music impacted them.  I think the coolest part of what I do is to get letters and you know, fan mail from people who really like me, especially when they tell me how I’ve affected them in a positive way.  I think that’s so cool.  That’s my favorite part of what I do.  And also, getting up onstage and performing, there’s nothing like that feeling.

Tracey: What is your song-writing process? Do you come up with the lyrics or the melody first?

Brock: I honestly think that for me there’s no set, what’s the word I’m looking for.

Josh: set process?

Brock: Yeah, there’s no set process.  It depends on what I’m doing at the time.

Josh: It also depends on what your producers want to do.

Brock: That’s true too.  Very true, because a lot of times, I write my own music, but a lot of times I’ll co-write with my producers.  That’s a really cool experience, to combine…

Josh: The talent.

Brock: Yeah, combine really good elements from a lot of different people.

Tracey:  I read that Ashley Angel co-produced a few of your songs.

Brock: Yeah, that was about 3 years ago.  I co-produced a few songs with Ashley Parker Angel.  The songs were never released, but it was a really cool experience for me.  He absolutely influenced me in a real positive way.

Tracey:  Ashley is awesome.

Brock: Yeah, he’s real cool.

Josh: I like his new song, the soundtrack of his life.

Brock: Yeah, his new show is real good.  I like it a lot.

Josh: It’s pretty cool.  It’s amazing how far he’s come, you know from O-Town until now.

Brock: I completely agree.

Tracey: Have you ever thought about getting into acting and if so what kind of movie would you like to star in?

Brock: I think acting would be awesome.  And honestly, if I could be in any kind of movie, I would be in a horror movie.  That’s my favorite genre of movies, and has always been a goal of mine to be in a horror movie.

Josh: You should be in a comedy movie too, I could so see that happening.

Brock: *laughs*

Josh: I don’t know if me and you would fit together in a comedy movie.

Brock: I am way too serious for comedy.

Josh: Okay, next question.

Tracey: What else besides music, are you passionate about?

Brock: Besides music, I think my biggest passion is just being a good role model for younger kids.  I have a younger sister who’s 8, and I see a lot of the stuff she’s doing, the people she looks up to aren’t probably, the best influences on her.  I want to be the kind of person, who can be a real good influence on young kids, because I think that is real important.

Tracey: What is the ne thing that you wish us fans didn't know about you?

Brock:  Actually, there isn’t anything that I wish my fans didn’t know about me, because I want my fans to know me on more then just a fan base level.  I want my fans to be able to get to know me personally.  So pretty much anything that they want to know, I’m comfortable with them knowing.

Tracey: How do you feel about having older fans?

Brock: Older fans, that makes me feel honored.  It makes me feel like my music is reaching different audiences and age groups.  That tells me that I’m doing something right, when I have an older person who likes my music.

Tracey: Do you have a favorite TV show?

Brock: I’m an “American Idol” Junkie *laughs*.

Josh: I love that show!  It’s totally awesome.

Brock:  I don’t really watch much tv, because I don’t have a lot of time, but if I ever do watch a show it’s “American Idol”.

Josh: Paris has got to win.

Brock: I’m more of a Chris fan myself.

Josh: Chris is pretty good.  I mean Paris or Chris.

Brock: Chris and Kelly.

Josh:  Well, I mean I thought Will was pretty good too but he got eliminated.

Brock: Chris and Kelly for sure.  Those are my favorites.

Tracey: What is the coolest nickname a fan has given you?

Brock: Actually, I recently had somebody give me the nickname “Brocker”.  *laughs* I don’t know where they came up with that one, but I think it’s pretty catchy.

Tracey: What has been the craziest thing that has happened to you so far this year?

Brock: The craziest thing that has happened so far this year.  Man, I think the craziest thing that has happened to me is making my own music video.  When I shot the video, it was supposed to be like a concert scene.  It was really cool to see people respond to me in that way.  I got a really good response in that music video.  That was a really crazy experience for me.  I wasn’t expecting to do that.

Tracey: Anything you would like to say to Pop Blitz and your fans?

Brock: You know, I just want to say thanks to everybody who has supported me.  And everyone, who has ever listened to my music and liked it.  Keep Brockin!

Special thanks to Brock for talking with us. Also to the following fans for questions: Butterfly, Tasha, Jocelyn, Kady, Veronica, and Char.
